This is a gentle stretch that can provide relief from pain caused by tightness in the muscles of the neck and upper back. It’s a great stretch to do just after you wake up or during your breaks at work – it will help minimise muscle tightness and lower the risk of experiencing tension headaches.
- Use one hand to gently push your head forward and use your other hand to guide your chin towards your chest until you begin to feel a stretch in the muscles at the back of your neck.
- Stay in this position for approximately 30 seconds and repeat the stretch a number of times.
